Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner


This is the new gel liner from Maybelline which is recently out in drugstores. Ive seen it in Boots and Superdrug for £5.99 and its been out for around a month now?
The weird thing is...Ive had this eyeliner for around 2 years now! =S

Not sure if the reason its just been released in the UK is because they've changed the formula or something.? but i bought this eyeliner in HK like i said 2-3 years ago.
(BTW, this picture makes it out like the pot is filled right to the top with product, but when you actually buy it, its not that full! Mine was just filled just above the line...So very decieveing! lol)


This is the pot i am STILL using! I havent managed to finish the whole pot after so long... and it is still good for me!

I have a back up of this liner...! I have used it once though coz i couldnt find my other one and i was ina rush so just used the new one instead...lol
You can see how full the new one is compared to the one im still using.. It really does last a long time, considering ive been using it on a daily basis!

So like i said... ive been using this eyeliner for 2years+, so i have a good idea of how well it works.
And i admit, it is a good linerr!
 
I agree with the points stating that it is waterproof, safe for sensitive eyes and for contact lens wearers.
Though i wouldnt say it is the most blackest gel eyeliner..its sort of dark grey-black. The gel eyeliner i showed in my HK haul is alot more black than this maybelline one.
 
The lasting power is just decent, it does last all day. But it does tend to smudge now and then, especially when you're out on hot days, the liner will smeer or melt if you're sweating... however, alot of liners do this aswell, and for me it isnt a major problem because i always apply liquid liner over the top of my gel liner.
 
The gel liner applys really smoothly and evenly when you first buy it, but because ive had it for so long, it has dried out a little bit so it can be hard for me to apply. But this is easily solved by placing a bit on the back of my hand and letting my body temperature warm and melt it a little bit.
Or i put the pot into the sink filled with hot water, and melt it down that way. Either way, the liner is still useable! So don't waste it. :)
 
The product comes with a separate brush, and i still use this brush to apply this liner. Its really soft and can create precise lines with the tip. You will have to wash the brush often if you use this liner daily because the gel will clump up the brush. But this happens with all gel liners so its pretty standard to wash the brush.
 
 
If you have bought this liner recently, i advise you to make sure the lid is on properly after you use it, because i think this is how mine dried out...since my second pot is still the same as the first time i used it!
